Storm warning: Be prepared

    Following the latest national news and weather warnings regarding two storms approaching the UK over the next few days, we have highlighted some tips and useful information to help you and your home oxygen requirements should your area be subjected to adverse weather conditions. 

    • If bad weather is forecast, make sure you know where your backup cylinder is and that it can easily be accessed, perhaps bring it out of where you are storing it so that it is easier to use if needed
    • Make sure that you have torches nearby to help to switch on your backup cylinder
    • If you can, charge your mobile phone before any bad weather strikes 

    If the power does go off

    1. Use the backup cylinder if needed

    2. Check how long the power is likely to be off. Call 105 to check for the latest update in your area (this number can be called from a landline or a mobile phone)

    3. If you are then concerned about whether you will have enough oxygen call
      England 0800 917 9840 
      Scotland 0800 833 531
      Remember when a backup cylinder is on, 4  litres a minute will typically last for 9hrs and over 18hrs at 2 litres per minute

    4. DO NOT USE CANDLES WHEN USING OXYGEN
    When your power is restored and you have used your backup cylinder remember to call us to organise a replacement, ideally after 9am.
