Dolby Vivisol achieves carbon neutrality

We are delighted to announce that Dolby Vivisol has achieved carbon neutrality.

Over the last 12 months, a range of projects and initiatives have been put in place across our organisation that have been instrumental in helping us achieve this significant milestone. From the use of green energy providers across our various sites, fuel-efficient route planning for all our deliveries, high levels of recycling together with environmental awareness programmes for all staff, we have made important progress to reduce our impact on the environment.

Whilst we always have patient care at the forefront of our agenda we recognise that we can achieve this without having an impact on climate change. Dolby Vivisol received confirmation of its CarbonNeutral® company status on 1st September 2020 in accordance with The CarbonNeutral Protocol, the leading global framework for carbon neutrality. 

Stephen Cottee, Managing Director explains, “The effects of air pollution impact everybody and it is a particular threat to patients with respiratory disease. Evidence shows that those with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, heart disease, lung cancers and now Covid-19 could have worsened illnesses due to air pollution. As a company that supports patients with respiratory conditions, it was a priority for us to make changes to our carbon footprint at the earliest opportunity.  We have made great steps to cut carbon emissions ensuring long-term benefits in the communities where we all live and work.”

In order to become a certified CarbonNeutral® company, our team at Dolby Vivisol devised objectives to reduce, calculate and offset carbon emissions produced by the company's activities to zero. Well-defined steps to measure carbon allowed the company to reach this goal successfully.
